About the Course

The supply chain planning (SCP) model drives the right planning model for an organization. Identifying influences on the SCP model will help you select the appropriate SCP model, thereby effectively managing supply and demand and the different activities in the supply chain.

Course Description

A supply chain planning (SCP) model comprises process, technology, and organizational assets. It helps ensure that products are available to meet the customer’s desired quantity and date. There are various factors that can influence the SCP model. These include a business model, manufacturing class, and supply chain operating models.

This course focuses on how to find the right planning model for supply chain planning. It starts by explaining what a planning model is. The course then moves into describing and analyzing the influences of business models, manufacturing classes, and supply chain operating models—including manufacturing, procurement, and fulfillment—on the supply chain planning model. The course also discusses industry and functional aspects of planning models.
