About the Course

Adequate planning and scheduling for resources and operations drives production on the floor and ensures that an organization knows how and when to account for all its productions requirements. Without accurate production planning, an organization would stand the chance of facing shortages or overages in the production process, which could lead to losses.

Course Description

For any organization, it is of the utmost importance to plan its production process. Planning the production process includes taking stock of resources such as raw materials and production machinery, scheduling the production according to the availability of resources, accounting for any capacity or material constraints, and adopting performance metrics to measure the efficacy of the production plan. Inadequate planning can lead to wastage of resources in terms of both materials and work force. It can lead to a higher cost of production than required. To avoid such losses, it is imperative that an organization plan and schedule its production to make high returns on investment.

In this course, you will learn about the importance of scheduling as well as materials planning in the production process. You will also learn to identify the metrics that determine the efficacy of the production plan.
